Under the floor you need the strength. Should be around 5:1. Over the dome go as lean as you dare. I use 10:1

I did 8:1 under the dome, probably could've done 10:1 really, definitely by volume.

Ratio

I use a standard ratio of six vermiculite to one Portland by volume. It's not a critical mix, but it's good to get close. Do it by shovelfuls, pails, what have you.
