Island hearth

If I remember correctly, there are some builders who vent the island hearth route not to increase the thermal mass of the oven floor, but to stop heat from escaping through the perimeter of the oven floor.

Other than that detail, new page looks great.

I have just updated the web-based Pompeii Oven plans with the new hearth design. I also describe the optional Island Hearth and Super Isol.
