  • Cleaning black soot off of decorative arch

I wanted to pass along this tip:
My oven draws very well, and for months after I started using it, I didn't have any black soot on my front arch. One night it was really windy and I used some wood that created a lot of black smoke, which left a decent amount of black soot behind on my decorative arch.

I didn't mind too much, but then I came across this fireplace cleaner, and thought that I'd give it a try. After about 5 minutes of minimal effort, I was able to clean off all the soot. It looks like new.

This might become a once a year maintenance kind of thing for me.

Belated thank you! This was one of the things that drove me crazy about our fireplace!
