  • Multimeter

I have found a Extech multimeter model EX 411. It seems to be able to connect to type K thermocouples and also doubles as a IR thermometer. All for about $70.00.

Has anybody heard of or had experience with this type of device?

If the IR is accurate to our temps I can kill two with one, I have a source for type K for about $13.00 for complete thermocouples.

Possibly a good deal for both IR and thermocouple installation.

I can't comment on this particular model, but Extech makes extremely accurate and durable instruments.
I own 2 Extech IRs, the first of which I nearly turned to molten plastic (do NOT leave in front of your oven during a raging fire), it is now held together in 3 places with electrical tape....and it still reads within 10-15 degrees of my brand new model 42512.
