  • Most unfortunate cracks

Long story short, I sold my home (yeah!) but in the process the buyers didn't want the backyard oven. So I removed it the best way I knew how. The result is in the pictures. Good news is the oven holds its shape, the dome still stands on its own.

My thoughts are these cracks are 'cosmetic' and not structural problems. Considering the cooking characteristics come primarily from the mass of the refractory and the mass has not changed and, secondly, there is no air-flow through the cracks when the oven is insulated and finished, the function of the oven has not been affected.

What say ye oh mighty oven builders?
