New way to clean the chimney out.
Put some dog treats in the oven to dry but have the oven just a tad too cool, close door and leave for 2 days.

All the blowflies that fly down the chimney trying to get to that horrid stink will clean the chimney out guaranteed.

The bottom of the oven underneath the flue was 1/2 in deep in soot.
I had to light the oven to get rid of the meat that was alive again and the horrible stink..

sounds like an interesting idea, does the flue really need de-sooting, does the flue really get that bad?.
I thought you might have just lighted up a blazen fire to burn it out Al.

Do the flues need regularly de-sooting, or does normal firing burn any excess off?

Don't get those problems with an igloo design WFO
No blowflies down the flue into the oven as the flue is on the outside of the oven.
My flue and vent area have virtually no soot or creosote build up, I think it is due to the hot gasses not having far to go before going up the flue, they do not have a chance to cool before exiting.

Or your flue gets above 300c and the soot burns off?

Every flue has soot in it, until the blowies come along.
In all the years that Ive been renovating old buildings and fire places I havent seen 1 that wasnt black inside the flue.
