  • Covering Dome in CF blanket

I'm just about ready to start covering my dome with the ceramic blanket. Has anyone got any tips or advise about doing this? Is there a particular way I should cut the blanket, ie: should I cut big 'Vs' into it so that it doesn't all scrunch up?
Should I just lay the whole thing over the dome and then trim the edges?
Any advise would be appreciated. I want the neatest job possible so that when I render over the blanket I have a nice consistent job without lumps.

    Hi
First off I would wear a dust mask to save your lungs, then I would wear one of them disposable paper overalls that can be chucked when done.
The dust gets into all your nookes and crannies and is most itchy, the disposable overalls stop this.

I cut big triangles and then lay them head to tail style, I find this gives me better coverage and very few bumps.
