I followed the advise on curing very carefully and last night decided that it was time to crank it up a bit. Now I have cracks!
The largest is about 1.5mm wide and had a small amount of smoke coming out of it. The rest are hairline and don't seem to go all the way through.
What do I do now? Should I cut out as much as the mortar as I can on the big crack and refill it?
The cracks closed up a lot as the oven cooled but the big one is still visible. Note that I haven't put the insulation on yet.

    Re: Cracks

cover it up and call it good. Following the curing process has never been a guaranty that cracks will not happen. If you are only seeing 1.5mm cracks consider yourself lucky, trust me, there have been far worse.

Agreed. Ignore them. They don't matter.
