  • What's a good ir thermometer for cooking/grilling?

Anybody know of or use an infrared thermometer that would be good to use while cooking/grilling? I heard that the Fluke infrared thermometer is a good brand, is this true? what other brands would ya'll suggest? Thanks!

fluke is a good brand, but probably too good. What is the price? I have a Klein that reads to a 1000 deg, works great and cost about $90 from Home depot.. FB store sells one here for $100 as well.

I have been using a cheap Harbor Freight one and it works fine! I think it cost me about $25 with a discount certificate. I once put it too far into the oven (I was wearing gloves) and the front melted a bit but it still works great. I checked the accuracy with my kitchen oven and it seems to read the correct temperature.

Thanks guys! I was wondering if the cheaper brands did just as good.
