  • Advice on Repairing Leaking Toscana80

    Greetings Everyone:

I have had my Toscana80 oven for about four years now and it water has been seeping in through exterior cracks for about the past year. When it gets wet, the oven does not hold temperature and my pizzas stick and come out doughy and unappetizing. To dry it out, I have been firing it for a day or even two days before I plan to make pizzas, which gets expensive. It's gotten to the point now where even two days of firing ahead of time isn't drying it out. I spoke with Forno Bravo and they wanted to sell me a patch kit for about $300. Needles to say, I am pretty disappointed.

Has anyone else had a similar problem with one of these ovens? Any advice on how to re-seal it and repair the leak for less than $300?

    Thanks for your help,

    Paul R

    Hi Paul,
First, thank you for your purchase. Despite the issues you're having, we do hope you've been able to enjoy your oven.

Here at Forno Bravo, we are taking a much more aggressive customer service stance under new management.

Please contact us @ 800-407-5119 and ask for Tim Cole, our new COO. He would be more than happy to personally discuss options with you.

Hairline cracking on the stucco can occur over time, but this shouldn't cause water to get inside the dome if maintained.

We have recently released video segments dealing with these types of repair that can show you exactly how your oven was built.

The exterior can be easily repaired and we recently posted videos on how to stucco and seal your dome:

We look forward to hearing from you Paul and hope this information has been helpful to you.

Thank you very much for the response and for sending the video links. I got in touch with Tim Cole at Forno Bravo and greatly appreciated his willingness to walk me through the process of patching the exterior of my oven. I'll have to wait for spring thaw to actually make the repair, but at least I'll know what I need to do to get myself back in the game.

Thanks very much, Tim--I greatly appreciate your time and your help!
