  • Temperature stabilisation....(maybe, eh.)

    G'day you mob.
We'll try for that image yet again, shall we?[Strewth, this is 'Take 42', I swear] ,buggerit!!

Hey lookout! "Houston, The Luddite has lift-off": beware!!

Yes mates, that's me flamin' prototype to keep the breeze at bay. One wing in position, the other resting. Designed to fold in around the spit.

Sorry, no image of the plasma-cut inner door yet; me mate's a bit hard to motivate. But watch this space eh.

    Love youse all, an' laughing,
    Luddite Jeff.
ps. for those of you who are computer literate, this may seem a strange post.
For those of us who struggle.. Well, let's just say it occupied an hour or more.
    Sighs with giggles,
    IJ.

      Dave,

NOUN: 1. Any of a group of British workers who between 1811 and 1816 rioted and destroyed laborsaving textile machinery in the belief that such machinery would diminish employment. Luddism

And here I thought they lived in underground caves, and drank BudLite.

Can't wait for an Oz spin on Luddite!

        Thank you sir!
I'd been meaning to look it up, but just didn't get around to it.

Are you blokes having a go at the Disadvantaged or what?
          Be nice eh.
To add to Guerito's correct but rather formal definition, consider the following:
          Luddites
Live in caves.(Even COOK in caves. See FB site.)
          Drink BudLite. (Eh?)
          Use 'snail mail', not e-mail.
          Can't use mobile (/cell) phones.
          Prefer film-camera technology.
Don't own or trust credit cards.
Marvel at things with names like "e-bay"
Love American GPS technology, but wonder why there is no fee attached.
Dislike crowds of three or more people.
Hope the ute(pickup?) doesn't break down when out in the scrub.
Bathe when caught in a rain storm....and so the list continues.

It's generally accepted that a Luddite is a silly old coot who needs to get a life and catch up with the twentieth (let alone twentyfirst) century.
But bear with us please: we're not such a bad sub-species of humanity, and remain grateful to those of you more enlightened souls who TRY to help us out.
          Hope that helps.
          Luddite Jeff

Great stuff Jeff! I was thinking it just meant crazy. Kinda the same thing as your description, but I think we get a much better picture from your detailed list. I'd love to see how you and your friends live in your world someday.

Gees Acoma, you got me that time. I swallowed the bait hook, line and sinker!
                Flamin' heck, Japan eh!
Don't listen to him GJ - Australia is at the Top of the World; Japan is down in some valley somewhere.
And what's with this "crazy" label GJ ? Strewth, you know how to hurt a bloke, eh.
BTW, got a fail-safe recipe for Thanksgiving Bald Eagle? Might be ok for galah.
Oh, and ignore that RT Floridian bloke; wallaby tastes nothing like chicken. Sheesh. Having some trouble with the cousins this thread.Got to go cook some pide.
                Stay well you lot.

                  Re: Temperature stabilisation....(maybe, eh.)

Top of the world, huh? (grins) Do the Aussies build their globes with Oz and Antartica on top, and the rest of us falling off the bottom of the earth and out into space, to ultimately be sucked away from Earth and into the gravitational fields of the Sun, then suffering a firey death?????

Good one Robert. I know Oz is right next to..... Hmmm,.... The Emerald City????

                    Re: Temperature stabilisation....(maybe, eh.)

Blimey George, of all people, I thought You had been around. But let's not get personal here.
Sorry to dispell a myth, mate, but the Emerald City is merely another gem embedded in that great brown land that's me backyard. (Google Tully, and see what you catch.[probably tinea at best eh])

And as far as building the globe wrong-way-up??? Hahaha; if only you mob could interpret your satellite data correctly............Huge sigh, but maybe it's all good. GJ, you'd have experienced the dismay when a sealed road suddenly replaced an old dirt road that once lead to your favourite fishing/camping/hunting area, eh. Well the Emerald City is a bit like that, dammit.
But as far as possible, we Aussies go along with global misconceptions, in the vain hope that the sealed road will never be built.

OK, sorry about the diversion cousin. Truth is, I have an image that I can't post. Tried to mail to Dave : blocked. So I've been typing/thinking. One more shot. (Been three hours for zilch so far, eh. Now that's value for money, true!)
                    I stop.
