  • Cleaning the bricks : alternatives

    Good morning,
I’m halfway in building my oven and I noticed some bricks, as well as the floor, are a bit dirty by the mortar or have a thin layer of water/mortar coming from the bricks above.
A part from use water & patience, or diluted muriatic acid that I think it’s very corrosive,
Is there a solution in between the two ?
    thanks for the advice ,
    Marco

Marco, try using vinegar to remove the light mortar residue. Some people make a dilute solution with water (50/50), but try just putting some white vinegar on a damp cloth and wiping the mortar "tears". Hope that helps...
