Aluminum foil and mortar is not a good mix, the mortar will rot out the foil, so any supposed advantages, like heat reflection or vapor barrier, won't materialize.
I used a sheet of foil between my inner and decorative outer arch as a slip plane. It didn't matter if it rotted out, because I only wanted the oven not to be adhered to the masonry exterior.
reflective barriers only work well when there is an airspace on the hot side of the reflective barrier. If they are in contact with the hot mass they conduct the heat and radiate it more quickly away from the oven.
