  • what to do with FB dust!

I have been cutting countless Fire bricks with my 9" diamond disc cutter, and I have a mass of FB dust, also the off cuts that could be ground up.
I have used some of it to point the hearth bricks(like block paving) to stop any movement, but I still have loads!

So I was thinking of making a mortar to help with the FB in the dome as I am starting to run out of the stuff I bought.

I just can't add it to cement can I, so what do I need to make it?

or is it just fit to through away!

You can use it like you use fireclay, in the homebrew mortar recipe, or mix it with sand for brick leveling.

I kept a five gallon bucket of saw sludge, and ended up throwing it out, since I used commercial mortar, and insulation boards so the floor didn't need to be leveled.

If you end up not using it for mortar, you could always put it in the barter and exchange bit for another UK builder... isn't fireclay virtually impossible to get hold of over there?
