    Can i use pre-mixed pool crete in place of mixing vermiculite and portland cement?

    You can, but I don't think there's any real advantage to it in these tiny quantities.

    That said, the guy I bought my perlite from now sells a concrete mix for pretty much the same price:

      I've worked with this and it seems to have a bit higher cement content than what I've seen recommended on this site.

      It mixed and hardended well.

      I bought it at a pool supply shop expecting loose vermiculite, but found it was a mix later.

      I used it as a loosely arranged second layer over top of ceramic blanket around the base of my dome.
