I could have a bit of a problem with the outer arch, I only have enough space left on the base for one brick length.
Is this to short for an outer arch?

No you have more ....just eyeballing one of you previous pics you can start your entrance outside the oven entrance. The insulation will be tight but what the heck there are heaps of ovens out there with no insulation gape to the entrance at all. That way you will get 1 and 1/2 brick to play with.
Advantages I can see ....your chimney can be position directly over the oven entrance. The outer entrance will be then 1/2 brick larger than the oven entrance great for operating the oven definitly not cramped.
Throw a 8 in chimney on that it will suck the Crome off a "56" Chevy.
It you can't see this by the words I've written and I will make up a drawing to make it clearer

I think Karangi used only one brick length with his landing. But he did have a decorative face from memory. Check out his build.
I am planning the same one brick length landing but with a half brick decorative face same as house bricks I have had sitting there for 13 years. I have also found a stainless steel fabricator to fabricate a stainless face to the front of the oven landing should I decide not to go with the house brick face.
What size is the Oven ? I am looking at 8" double skinned flue for a 1m internal oven. Doing similar to Utahbeehiver for his flue. Yes I know that poses a problem with a single brick landing being around 9" deep. But I will figure it out.
You could flare the front landing which is what I am doing. That would give you some more options and a wider landing at the front.
Wayne,
I know it's not easy and too late now, but there are quite a number of coinciding vertical joins of four courses of bricks. I hope they don't give you trouble. Hopefully ok because the dome is stronger in the top half.
