I have trampoline envy Brendon, that's a nice one. Want something like that for the kids with the sides so they can't hurt themselves.

I'm sure we'll be keeping an eye on each other's work as it it progresses. Or not, as the case may be. But you've made a good start. Looks like you've got a lot of work on apart from the oven. And a little 'un in tow as well.

I'm over at Bondi. Where you at?
hey mate. I'm in baulkham hills. Little further from the beach than I'd like compared to bondi!

Looks like you are off and running. Plenty of work on there and nothing like getting the family on the job early. The dedication displayed by missing the Bathurst 500 is admirable.

You will find all the advice you need on the forum. All the best with your build, I will watch with interest.

started a topic New build in Sydney

    New build in Sydney

Well its finally started. Been years in the planning, years of research (mostly on this site).

Going for 36" pompeii or so on a formed slab with 200mm overhang all round.

Laid a 200mm thick slab a few months ago, finally got around to laying the besser blocks over the weekend, and filling them with reo and concrete. Missed Bathurst 1000 (car race in Bathurst, Australia for our overseas friends). Hot day in Sydney but got it done pretty easy with help from the wifey.

Bought the besser blocks on ebay for $1 each. The cement mixer $87, the fire bricks $2 each. So its a relatively cheap build.

As a side project I'm renovating a three bedroom home, retaining walls, deck, garden beds, paving, etc etc etc.

Thanks all in advance for your advice, expertise and patience!
