Its possible to build a disposable insulated oven door that works with about 15 mins of effort from materials found around you.

Pretty ugly hah. But it works. I found a friend using this and I was amazed that it worked too .
A piece of ply cut to size to fit the revel ( in this case 6 mm) a block of wood screwed to the outside to keep it upright. You could delete this part and just use a couple of bricks to hold it against the revel.
The real important bit is the use of the aluminium foil. 3 layers wrapped around the thing. This provides the all important ...
" insulation air gapes". It will prevent that ply from bursting into flame. And you can put your hand on the front of it without that much heat.
It's not super efficient but it works and will survive more than one use if you replace the foil. You will however get pretty sick of the look of the thing and go on to produce a better door I'm sure
