  • Crack in arch mortar

Mortared the inner arch 3 days ago. Today I noticed a hairline crack which appears to run between a brick and the mortar....along the whole visible mortar line.
It was a hot day 24 deg 'C and the bricks were sucking moisture like mad.

    Havent removed arch support yet.

I didnt soak the bricks - but I do now on the dome.

Is this crack anything to worry about ?

What should I do if its a problem ?

Most likely not a problem. Can you post a pic?

It is an arch. Arches are in compression, so a crack doesn't hurt anything.

Agree with responses above. I have had a hairline in my inner arch for 4 years and it has not changed after uncounted fires.

That looks like it will never be a problem. Nothing has slipped. Onwards and upwards!
            Cheers ......... Steve

I have the same issue on my inner arch. Some time has passed, have you had any issue since? I am a lil more optimistic after reading the comments from those who know.
