  • Support for brick work?

There is a picture on the 13th page of the 55 pages of pictures in the "residential" set of pictures from Lincolnshire, UK. I wanted to know if there needs to be concrete block behind the brick hearth stand(where the wood is stored)?
    Thanks for a reply.

I plan on building the stand and oven, not the flanking work stations. Does the stand need to have cinder block support under the brick or not?

A little confused here. If you are building the stand, what are you planning on if it's not block? Are you building it out of iron?

if i understand the ?- properly laid brick will support the stand, no need for cinder block underneath. Most builders use the cinder block because it is easy to set and then add a brick veneer or stucco for appearance. But, a stand made of brick is fine if done correctly. Reach out to the brickies on the site. Ask Al - brickie in Oz.
