Excavation is complete, foundation blocks are set, cores are filled. Getting ready to pour the slab. Need to figure out where to dump that hill.

It is finally getting warmer here. Had a chance to rethink block arrangement.

Never laid bricks before. I must admit brikies on youtube make it look much easier then I could have ever imagined. the main lesson i learned is to go easy on the water when making mortar.
installed face bricks and poured the support slab on the grill section (right). installed the oven base arch and small walled section, will be pouring hearth slab sooner then I thought .Last edited by agrasyuk; 04-27-2017, 06:52 AM.Comment

Poured countertop slab yesterday. Finished with 10 minutes to spare before the rainstorm hit the area. Had just about enough time to cover the thing with plywood sheets and nylon. Opened it today, found an area where drips from plywood exposed the aggregate a bit, but should not be to much of an issue.
forecast has rain qued for at least 2 more days so the slab will stay nicely hydrated through the critical part.Attached FilesComment
