HI Wayne Bergman here. I live in an area that has a strict no open fire ban in place for our summer season. Our local fire chief is coming over tomorrow to look at my oven to see if it will be allowed to be used during the open fire ban. I am in British Columbia Canada. The local ban that I see referenced to on our Sechelt District web site seems to be referring to OPEN FIRES when making reference to the ban. I am a bit puzzled by this as my oven is dead safe and see no reason why I should not be able to use it even in the dry weather. I dont even start the fires with cedar like I do in the winter but go with all Alder for my fire wood so there is no popping in the cook chamber like you would get with the cedar start up.
I am wondering how other areas treat similar fire bans that seem to reference the term "Open Fire" for the ban. Are our ovens included in these open fire bans and or should they be?
