  • Curing

    So its time for fire.

But before I go crazy with the curing process I thought i'd ask a quick question(potentially silly).

Where do you take the temp readings from? Are you taking the air temp in the oven, of the brick temp around the walls. I have potential to be able to read both.

    cheers

I did both. I was winging it. But, I started out real slow using the Karangi Dude Heat bead "charcoal" method for the first firing. It's a lot more forgiving in the early stages. No matter how small or controlled, a wood fire will have a direct flame impingement at the apex of the dome. That is uneven heating IMO. Just sayin' .
