  • Using Heat Stop 50 and Perlite for insulating render

    Hi all,
    Very new to masonry.
Is it okay to mix perlite with Heat Stop 50 in a 5: 1 ratio as the render coating? If OK, is it overkill?
    Thanks in advance!

Yes, it’s overkill as it won’t see high temperature. Normal OPC is sufficient there and as there is a big price difference you are wasting your money. It also has a much shorter working time, potentially increasing wastage if you’re not fast enough placing it.
Kindled with zeal and fired with passion.
