The local brick place has regular colored, and a light red colored firebrick for the same price. I don't recall seeing these red colored firebricks in anyones pictures, nor have I seen it discussed. Could anyone tell me what is different about them and/or if it's okay to use them? My dog ate the receipt but it was a little under 1 dollar each.

Re: Red fire bricks
Sure, some people have used red fire bricks. And some other people get rather jelous of it, because they're rarer than regular coloured ones.

Re: Red fire bricks
I love the red firebricks, just couldn't find any. Frances is right, badger's oven is sweet looking with both types.
PS-The bricks were under a dollar each? Man I got ripped off, mine cost $1.31 each."Pizza, the world's most perfect food."

Re: Red fire bricks
Gang,
Another builder used them to alternate a couple of rings and I liked the look.
I just lucked out in that my brick supplier happend to have about 30 leftover from a previous job. I'm just planning on using them for 3 rows then I'll use the tan colored. I have seen black, light red and some other colors...
