Hi i am starting to plan out my oven to build for next year. I am going to build a 42 inch Pompeii oven. I live in upstate NY so we get alot of snow. I was wondering what is the expected lifespan of a brick oven? Also i was wondering what is the best way to weatherproof the oven? I would be okay building an enclosure if needed.

Welcome to the forum!
The lifespan of a brick oven, if kept dry, could be hundreds or even thousands of years. There are several waterproofing options: Plaster render (subject to movement), etc. One member here has done a beautiful copper "scale" dome covering, others have done tiles, roofs, enclosures etc. A full enclosure is probably the best, but you'll get lots of different opinions. My 42" build: https://community.fornobravo.com/for...ld-new-zealand
