  • Molded Dome

    Hi All,
    in the next week I want to start my build I was reading in couple different sites,and got lost,
    i would like to get better understanding,so the dome will be constructed from concrete but I am not sure how what materials to use.
    i will really appreciate some info

    Go to the "Other Oven Types" section and start your research there. Also review posts by DavidS, he is the forum's cast over guru. Also, ask me anything, is the wrong place to post oven questions

        Hi Korslava, I built mine from Castable refractory cement, biggest issue I find was getting the covering for the top of the dome doneover the sand mold in a fashion that kept the cement at a low water cement ratio but still a consistency I could shape, you can see the build here and you can see the issue in some of the pictures. David S and Utahbeehiver are great sources of help and information. I have cooked in my oven a few times now but am still working on the outside, Not sealed it yet, ran out of time last fall.
