Re: Michael's 42" in Portland
I ordered the blanket and FB insulation board from Forno bravo. Everything else I purchased locally. Mutual Materials has firebrick. Everything else I got at the home depot. All my finish stone came from Smith Rock Smith Rock Decorative Stone.

Re: Michael's 42" in Portland
I had talked with the folks here: ANH Refractories Company and they had all of the supplies needed. I haven't ordered them yet but they seemed knowledgeable.

Re: Michael's 42" in Portland
The finish work is done! Before the roof went on I filled the enclosure with perlite.

Then the roof went on and the mason's finished the facade.

Looks great with the patio that went in this summer.

Nah, you are just wanting to make the oven look like it belongs. I am jealous that yours is looking so good! You have done an awesome job. Just watch out for them masons. They may request a tip of Pizza each day.

The stone masons are back. The counter top is on, the roof is on. It looks awsome. Pictures in the next few days. Of course it already makes great pizza's so I guess I'm just being vain.

Re: Michael's 42" in Portland
Counter top is 2" thick blue stone. The roof will be 1" thick blue stone.
I went back and forth on the vent, but I have moisture in their now and seem to be making some progress soaking it up with the desiccant. I'm using DampRid which is basically a Calcium Chloride salt.
Last weekend I kept a hot fire going for over 5 hours. I watched lots of steam come out of the top of the insulation. However on the floor (which is 2" FB board) I measured about 350 deg F at the firebrick insulation interface and 212 deg F at the insulation concrete interface. It just sat at 212 all day, so I'm sure it's just filled with steam which is slowly pushing out. Hence my decision to go with a back door to replace the desiccant.

Nice looking oven!
What are you using as the stone for the counter top? Is that blue stone?
I did not do a vent to release moisture. I'm hoping there is none in there!
Just sealed everything up with black tar paper and wire lath. Next the stone veneer...
Thanks,
Bob

Re: Michael's 42" in Portland
I asked about a vent a few weeks back and dmun recommended a brick vent. I decided it was too wet in Portland for a vent. I cut a hole in the back of the Hardibacker and will install a door after the stone facade is completed. The aluminum tray will hold a desiccant. This will absorb any moisture that gets in after the roof is on and all sealed up. I put the sides on the tray, because I will fill the lose space with perlite.

The finish work is mostly done. I cheated and paid professionals to do the finish work. The roof slate should arrive next week. With a little luck it will all be done by next weekend.
Here's the front:

and the side:

On this side you see the cut stone that will be the front counter top:
