Fourth row of dome bricks are mortared and arch bricks are cut.

After nearly 40 years of marriage, I have learned that she is always right . The sooner that you come to that realization, the happier you both will be .

I took your advice and trimmed a bit off the middle four bricks. Looks good to me.

Or just trim an eighth off of each brick in the row. I think that you can work it out to where it want be that noticeable.

I've run into an issue with the bricks. Now that I am laying a row across the front, my spacing is a bit off. How should I handle this? My inclination is to trim about a half inch from the end of the two bricks that fall on the center line. On the next row, I will trim the same amount from the brick that straddles the center line. Does this sound like a good idea that won't be too noticeable?

Rained out again this weekend, but I managed to work on the front of the base between showers.

    Pat,

Thanks. I checked out your build thread. Nice oven. My oven, from the floor up, will look somewhat similar to yours.
