yes carl slowly but i can see the light.
not had chance to post for a week or so but made some more slow progress. weathers been a nightmere rain all day yesterday killed play time. but sun was out today and finaly managed to get the bbq closed in last weekend i got the forms all made and a few course to help the front low arch go over over the next coupe of days with a short day at work i got the front cut done. I used a bit of string from the centre of the radius with some tape stuck around it at the right point for the cut you can just see it in the 1st pic im hoping to create some form of smoke shelf at the start of the hoodon the sides you can see the forms sit on a course of brick that will hopefully do this and keep the smoke up ther for the cimney to suck it up the forms will be a nightmere to get out though but il sort itClick image for larger version

just a quick progress update finished early on friday so managed to get the back of the dome arch finished all squared up ready for a chimney same process 2 cans of stella and take the form out leaving a nice gap for insulation Click image for larger version

then i got a couple of hours on saturday to see where i was going with the fireplace/bbq had a full day today against the rain at times and made some good progresswith the bicks. got the back wall up and cut to recieve the arch just the front to do then get the sides rolled over also cobbled out some bricks on the ouside so i could get a good sized counter shelf on the side.

3 cans of stella later and I couldn't stop thinking about the mortar joints under the arch form so I went for it dropped out a treat and there was enough mortar in the entry way for me to point it all up keeping the mortar as one and not putting new on top of old tomorrow Click image for larger version

There was no way I was losing all them cuts Carl I had another try at dry laying it and it seemed to work so a few more cuts this morning and I've now earned my stella long bloody day it has been but worth the effort I think ended up pointing in the dark so hope it's ok Click image for larger version

Looking good, Lee. At this point, you can either consider adjusting your joint spacing, make or buy a custom keystone, cutting a new arch template, or start over. It'd be a shame to start over, after doing all that cutting. If it were me, I'd at least look into adjusting your joints and/or making a new template. That's the cheapest and easiest way to go. If you can't live w/that, then consider making or buying a keystone. A different type/color/style of keystone can, at times, make a nice complimentary feature to an oven, if that is an option for you. Best of luck.

Already done that one David think they sick off waiting!! Getting through the cuts had enough dine for a dry lay not workin out as should so bit of head scratching to be done I may have to make a custom keystone if I can't re jig them Click image for larger version
