  • Vent chimney and insulation complete

Vent chimney and insulation complete. I used 3 inches if isowool and 4 inched of perlcrete. All went very fast. vent, chimney and insulation in less than 4 hours. Even had time to take the kids to the punkin patch.

KC, very cool! Are your flue pipes 8 x 17 or 13? And let us know how it draws when you fire that bad boy up.

Looks great! Thanks for posting the pics... cos I'm currently wondering how to do the transition between oven and chimney. Seems to be a wonderfully simple solution you chose.

And fast insulation is good news, too :-)

I used 8 x 13 flue liner. I paid $11.00 per foot. I'm not a mason and I tried to do a fancier arch but that didn't turn out well. So I figured I would use the K.I.S.S. method (Keep It Simple, Stupid). I'm hoping it will draw like a freight train.
