  • Another insulation question

    I am planning to build a 39" pompei. Planning on 4" calsil below cooking surface and 4" ceramic blanket on dome. Is 4" sufficient for the dome? I am planning to stucco over that. Trying to make it fairly fuel efficient. It will probably have a simple roof over it in the end. Thanks

    Plenty of insulation for multiday cooking. But sure to read threads on how to keep water from hearth getting in the floor insulation.

      Fantastic! Yep, ive been reading about that for a couple days now. And it just rained to show me a slight depression in my cement. Gonna drill a series of weep holes. Entry is pretty protected from the elements plus i have a roof in mind. Thanks for the reply
