Super fantastic, Les! That was a lot of "using your noodle" as a friend of mine always said! How are you going to handle those little voids under that course at the door? You probably don't have to but with the attention to detail that you have shown so far I thought you might have a plan in place already!

Dutch,
There is not much that can be done there. I could hang pieces there with mortar but that seems like a weak solution, I'll pass. I will go underneath with the gout bag and fill any voids that may exist.
Biondoli,
Are you referring to the lateral force on the sides of the entry? I plan on another row of decorative brick - since these will be cores, I'll most likely run some steel through them into the hearth.
Good to have you back Les...and congradulations on the grad. Great that she is done and probably a tremendous financial relief as well! I look forward to that day myself. I have two in college and another that is only two years away. I haven't been this broke in years!
Keep up the world-class work.

PS- Missed you at Acoma's party. Thought you might be there.
Thanks Dusty - I had other commitments the day of Roberts party. Hopefully there will be more.
You're right about the kids getting out of college. My son is 1.5 years away and then they both will be off the daddy plan. I'm going to save a fortune in car insurace alone.
OK Boy's and Girl's - this is getting very interesting. This is row eleven (one more to go), and if I can get 7-8 bricks in a night, I'm a happy man. It looks like the center will be about 3/8 inch below the target of 21 inches. That's because of the keystone at the 13th course (Duh! Train had lights and sound - didn't see it or hear it until I was stuck in the tracks (again).
