Water leaching into oven from landing

This summer we have had some significantly worse storms that in past years and I have noticed for the first time that water is leaching in from the firebrick in the oven landing, to the oven interior. I am guessing this has gone on for some time. The combination of the severity of the storm and an oven deck cleared out just before the storm alowed the thin coating of ash to provide a clear contrast between wet and dry areas. Regardless, has anyone had a similar problem, and if so, did you find a solution?
