Water leaching into oven from landing

This summer we have had some significantly worse storms than in past years and I have noticed, for the first time, that water is leaching in from the firebrick in the oven landing, to the oven interior. I am guessing this has gone on for some time. The combination of the severity of the storm and an oven deck cleared out just before the storm alowed the thin coating of ash to provide a clear contrast between wet and dry areas. Regardless, has anyone had a similar problem, and if so, did you find a solution?

I did not see this problem however I have thought about it for my oven build (not yet implemented) . unless you can have a roof that has large overhang then consider having a door like a cap (larger than outside dimension of oven mouth, like a saddle, you can use to close the oven mouth with which should prevent water getting in. of course if its hot and there is rain then that implies you should use steel material and not combustible or low melting point material . you'd have to combine it with inner door shut. I anticipate you can't use oven on active fire in such weather, unless you have a roof with large over hang that you don't need to cover the mouth
