Re: Ellie's WFO as it it built
Hey Ellie,
where have you gone???
There seems to be several interesting regular members gone missing lately without explaination!! (like yourself, Nissanneill, Tim, Bacterium and a few others).
You were so enthused and keen to get this wonderful oven planned, then built, but now it seems to have dropped off the face of the earth.
How did the firings go and how are your pizzas and baking going????
Anxiously awaiting.

Re: Ellie's WFO as it it built
Thanks, Dino. I am really excited to have it done. I would like to start curing on March 1st.
I love the fact that I can grill with wood (on the left side) or use the dutch oven in there.

That's a beautiful cooking area Ellie, I love the various levels of prep surfaces. Looks amazing. I'm sure you can't wait to start cooking on it (when the proper time comes of course). Cheers to a job well done! -Dino

I'm assuming you downloaded the two FB cooking books. We have really enjoyed them.

Ellie, when my dome starts cracking due to my impatience, I'll send you the pictures to help pass the time.
if you do find a great cook book please let me know. As mentioned before, that's the next learning curve!

Yeah, I am a patient person, all right.... however, I also don't know what I am doing when it comes to pizza, so I have to do some research. This will give me a little time, lol.
I never thought the dome would look as good as it does. I was prepared for "rough" so I am so happy, that I wll defer to the "month wait" since he is so sure that will do it. Dale says I can make a big fire if I want to at that time, as long as I wait the month. I will still cure it slowly anyway. I want to make sure that this thing works well.

Pretty much. I recall going away a few days (after the plug) for the forth of July and then going nuclear the next weekend.

Ellie,
You must have great patience.March 1st! Most of us were very quick in starting our curing fires. Les, didn't you start your first fire as you were setting your plug.

Re: Ellie's WFO as it it built
Nikki, I promised Dale that I would not start a fire until March 1st, one month from when the dome was finished. I will keep that promise. Besides, I need to get a good cookbook! There is the one with the dvd that comes with it and I am really hoping that it is a good primer.

Re: Ellie's WFO as it it built
Thanks, Dale said he could have done it in a week if he had worked with another guy like he usually does. He did it all by himself. We were hindered by a week and a half of rain, but I swear, he was here working in between rain drops!!
If you ever want brick work done, he is your man.

Beautiful! When do you get to start curing fires? It's been at least a week since the dome was finished, hasn't it?
