The only vermiculite I have found in my area is a fine sand like prouduct used to insulate concrete block. Is this ok to use for the insulating pad and cap.
Thanks Larry

(M) If you have found a Vermiculite that has been coated for easy pouring into the cores of your cement block, that is not what is recommended for insulation. Coated Vermiculite, or Perlite will not readily absorb the water necessary for proper hydration of your "Perlcrete". If you're mixing an insulating "concrete" get the uncoated common garden - horticultural variety.
