I've been looking for some time and haven't found anything suitable or within my budget, but keep looking. One day I'll find something.
Ebay has the occasional mixer but usually 20 to 50 litre capacity and as Neill says they are far too big for my purpose.

To turn this around....you don't need a mixer IMO...

Just a large food safe plastic container of about 40L, and use the no knead method. This makes sensational, soft, great tasting dough.

a 40L container will do 10kg at a time, and most people have one already in the form of an Esky
(Esky = "Cooler" in the USA)

True, but I already brew my own beer which saves me heaps and as for toppings, well I'm hopeing to do a small good making course next year at the local TAFE, so will hopefully be making my own there as well.

The main reason for wanting the mixer at the moment, for me, is that my other half likes to make home made pasta and the Kitchen Aid mixer doesn't have the capacity she wants.
When I get around to building my oven(s) then it will be more usefull for pizzas, breads and such.

Interesting!!

The industrial mixer has shot off the scale of my "willing to pay" meter so no knead sounds like a really good alternative.

Do you have more details on this method?

Rossco, it's simplicity itself, you basically throw everything into a container and leave it on the bench overnight...

If you have a mixer - it will definitely come in handy for that.... it'll at least stop your hands from going numb with cold!!!

Yes but at the end of the day, where does all this beer and pizza toppings end up????
At least I still have a mixer to make my life easier and will have it for life.
All you will have are memories of maybe a hang over and guts ache!

He doesn't have anymore in stock at the moment but should be getting some in two to three weeks. Very easy guy to deal with as well.

Wow - that's a great find ... just sent an enquiry about shipping to Perth. That could be the deciding factor I guess.

Only 3kg kneading capacity! wow. that seems low for a 10L mixer.

I wonder what the minimum amount is?

Talking about size ...

I called about an advert in the local classifieds here - "Large dough mixer - $500". No other details were provided. I had a checklist of size, phase, etc. The first question I asked was "how big is it". There was a bit of silence .. and the lady said... "we think it's 80 litres... you will need a crane/truck to remove it!"

Definitely a bit too big for what I want...

You could use it to mix cement
