I used to fix a few chimneys in Melbourne in a past life and used these guys.
Chimney Pots
they do deliver.
I might add something to my one when I build it from there too.

Hi John,
I know it is not in Sydney but you could try calling John at Bennetts Pottery in Magill, SA. I know he does terracotta flues, particularly period specific. A very good product made with quality and skill. He may have suppliers in Sydney or supply direct. He also makes to order.

That was the plan.I've been reassured this is more than adequate for the sides and back.
But for the dome,im going to wrap it in 2 layers of ceramic blanket and then 75 mm of vermimix to hold it together.

5 in of pealite cement is roughly equal to 2 1/2 in of ceramic ... "Plentiful sufficiency" I recon

That looking real good!
I wouldn't use steel in your insulation layer. It will only attract and transfer heat There a good chance once heated it will expand and crack the insulation as well.
If it can hold up the weight of an oven it will certainly do the task on those side walls I'm sure.

Well progress has been a bit slow,trying to get as much done as possible between work-related activities.
-Insulation bricks sit on a couple of layers of aluminium foil.
-Hearth bricks over that in a herringbone pattern sitting on a mix of fireclay & sand for levelling.I gave all hearth bricks a slight chamfering as well.
-Started the sidewalls and back wall of the oven,ready for the dome.
-Blockwork done to its final height level.This will act as a buttress for the vermi-mix sittting in the void.
Next step will be to make the vermi- mix (6:1) and pack it to the level of the oven walls before starting the actual dome.
Anyone recommend a bit of reo for the vermi mix? I have around 120mm of it going in on the sides and back.
I'll keep you guys updated,

Noticed your entrance is deep. It's just about the same as mine I find it usable, for a dome. You could make it wider and higher otherwise that back wall is going to appear a long way from the front.
