    Thanks for the info. I am trying to squeeze as much oven as I can into a 48"x48" space and still have room to insulate. It looks like I will have a 32" oven. Kind of small but there is only 3 of us.

    Not being in a rush and being very detail oriented, I intend to cut each brick on 4 sides to fit. My intention is to eliminate as much of the mortar gap as possible. I would think this should improve the strength. I read on a few sites, the old timers way of laying firebrick is to dip the brick in a soupy mortar, place the brick and tap with a mallet forcing the mortar out and keeping the gap as small as possible. I believe this method may be for high temp kilns and refractories ect.

    I took a quick look at the web site you linked to and I have some reading to do.

      I just became (a member). This build is awe inspiring. I am currently researching the build of a mobile WFO.
