  • Stucco ideal mix

    Hi,
I need to make the final coat to my oven.
Which is the best mix to make stucco?
    Thanks!

Since you are in Greece and the oven is covered under the patio I would ask local trademen on this. I remember you are in the Athens area and the weather is not as severe there, find out the the locals do.

Do a Google search and you will see dozen of formulas for DYIers. That is why I suggested you talk to local tradesmen using local materials.

4 fine sand, one part cement, half a part lime + plasticiser will make an nice easy to apply mix but it will not be water proof.
i use that mix as a finale coat over a sharp sand 4 - 1 mix with adder plastic fibres.
i use weather shield exterior house paint to water proof the top coat.

I used a 3:1:1/2 mix plus water. First coat embeded the mix in the lath. Next day did a second coat. Roughly 3/8" to 1/2" thick per layer. I've been misting it today. Ill give it a few more days to cure prior to waterproofing with Thoroseal.
