  • Combination Rumsford fireplace and Pompei pizza oven project.

We love a fireplace and a pizza oven and looked for ways to combine them in a small space. I hope this design inspires and blesses others who love Jesus and Pizza!

The fireplace is a Rumsford style so that it could be shallow. The secret was splitting the flue around the entrance to the pizza oven by using stainless steel flex flue liner.

The fireplace chimney is in front of the pizza oven chimney which is a squirreltail chimney. Both are completely separate

The pizza oven is a Pompei style oval 32 x 38".

The diagonal brick feature for the arch was inspired from a 3rd century church in Thessalonica, Greece. and the backlit, carved onyx from an artifact from Corinth.

Why a Rumsford Fireplace? I knew there wasn't much depth available since the smoke needed to exhaust around the throat of the oven. This design accomplished that beautifully with great functionality.
