Quote from the back of the bag. It does say it isn't waterproof, but non-water soluble means it won't run away like a sand castle when the tide comes in if it gets wet after drying.

Breathe. Since what I'm using says specifically "air drying", I am assuming that what you're using is the same.
    Sounds reasonable to me.

And by the way, I like your signature. I've been looking at the outside of my oven, course by course, and boy, it's a good thing the blanket and vermicrete will hide a multitude of sins! Ugly breaking points and lumpy mortar.

Air setting cement is just that, AIR SETTING. once its dry fairly robust. Heat setting products usually dont get a ceramic bond until 1000c so are unsuitable in an oven situation. You can even put a "plasticizer" in the cement to aid in waterproofing, a product we use is called bondcrete.

I am no expert, but there have been a lot of threads on this topic...
Search air-set in the box on the upper right part of the page...

Here is one thread that seems relevant.
Note that Alf and Cannuck Jim (who discuss this in this thread) are both masons...

Well i bought some firebrick from our home depot, i dont think it was the right kind but i had no choice. I finished the dome and laid the first of many layers of insulating vermiculite.

Some more pics, i have had two fires goin for about three to five hours each at this level.(about 120-150 0C)Saw a little steam coming off the top of the dome. Im shooting for 20cm of vermiculite insulation, i cant believe how big this thing is now! My family and neighbors cant wait till pizza time.

I even saw some white, yet no cracks and everything looks good.....mabye my curing schedual isnt too bad. To make a long story short we cooked some pies and oh my God were they good! They took about two minutes mabye three to cook and they were splendid. Thanks to all for their help.

                          Awesome.
You made me hungry for pizza. I haven't had one in over two weeks.

I gotta get my finish done and cook some pies this weekend!

                          Great work!
                          And the pies... look yummy.

                          Is that potato on one?
