Lol, ya that is my thinking also, my main concern is the 15 LB density VS the 17 LB Density of the Ceramic board.

Calcium silicate or ceramic fiber board

I have to make a decision soon as i need to buy the insulation tomorrow. The cal-sil is rated at 1,200F density is 15 lb, dimensions are 12x36x2 , and its $10 a board, at that price i can double it and get a 4 inch insulation under the bricks. Is this overkill?. Or my other option is getting ceramic fiber, rated at 2,800F , density is 17 lb, dimensions are 24x36x2. The box comes with 3 boards and costs about $115. Please take a look at the specs, specifically the density. I would greatly appreciate the feedback. Thanks
