BTW, I meant to say that I think your outer arch has abstract coolness...I appreciate how tightly fit it is, and you cut into it very nicely.

Ha! thanks. I was very tempted to cut it the way Tom suggested but the randomness appealed to me more. I love playing with Stone and am a tad envious of you guys who get to do creative stonework for a living.

The Brick stack is something I have not thought about, but might solve the problem of finding a copper guy to build that assembly. Trying to wrap my brain around flashing it. I do have some Hardi leftover and my one brick! maybe I can build a Copper looking Chinamans Hat Cap and still have that Copper thing I keep going back to.

I did some measuring today and I think I'm going to do the brick stack. It will look great and cost less than the copper and less hassle too. I think I have the flashing figured out since I am a "tin knocker"

Some progress on the Veneer. Had difficulty pointing the vertical joints. Never could get the Bag to work but rigged up THIS tool after racking my brain. Laugh if you must

That term predates even me . It is a term that I have always heard and used. To me, it means filling the joint "completely" from the "back to the front" by what ever technique that works".

Technically, "pointing" or "tuckpointing" is done to re-fill an existing joint that has either eroded or been cut out. For new work the correct technical word would be "grouting".

Either way, it looks good and I like your tool, although it is just a matter of getting the grout consistency right to use the bag.
