Everything looks great so far. Really like the future prep area on one side and the grill/fireplace on the other. Can't wait to see it done.

Thank you Darin and Steve it's comments like that that keep mans spirit up and motivation going I'm no bricklayer by any means just a groundworker with a kean eye! Ha always watched the brickies on jobs I've been on through the years and loved the skill of it built a few manholes and gullys in my time but never anything like this.

That looks good. Being a reasonably hopeless bricklayer (need some tuition) I really do admire the work of those with the skill.

I am sure that your build will end up looking good and your progress for the limited time you have is impressive.

    Impressive work.

Got a little more brick work done tapered all the arch bricks with the sthill saw for a more even joint. Only getting one day a week on the oven is really slow progress but it's all I get nowadays Click image for larger version

ID:	305814 I can't really go no further with the oven until I get the face work up to the start of arch level as I have nothing to build on dave I'm build another arch over the firebrick one so should make it a bit easier to brick around the pot

Hi guys had a bad time trying to get the face bricks I wanted but managed to get my hands on some yesterday! Had an hour in the trowel yesterday and few more today got all the footprint done so can see the size it's going to be now it's a monster! To the left of the oven is a prep area with under arch and to the right is a fireplace / bbq Click image for larger version

yes mcman it should look good il need 2 of them one for the fireplace also but the main problem im having at the min is damn bricks! There is such a shortage here in uk that i cant even go buy a regular class b engineering brick from stock and as for the face brick i set my heart on well not a merchant in england have them no more massive backlogs and big companies taking them all is not helping so im a bit stuck. tried a few recclaimed yards today but never have the quantity i need

I think that's going to look pretty sharp. I like the look of those, but have too many trees in the area and would be concerned w/one like that getting damaged, so I'll go w/a metal chimney cap out of necessity. Good choice, though.
