I think you did a great job. Very nice. It's a nice feeling to get that stage done, isn't it?

That's how I feel. I just used some of the cutoff pieces, trimmed them up and fit them in, then had one final piece that was shaped kind of like a funnel. I buttered that up and that was the plug. It's a done dome.

You got it in one piece ncman great il keep checking for your next pic see how you did it think I'm going to put in one more course just trimmed down on height to get a single keystone but just got in from a hard day poured 32 cube of concrete and dug 70 tone of muck for some foundations in this heat and plagued with little black midget flys from 730 this mornin THE OVEN CAN RAM IT TONIGHT 5 cans of Stella artois instead !

I got mine done today and was lucky enough to get my plug in one piece. Worked out nice, actually. I really don't think it matters all that much. Good luck w/it.

Yes ncman I have seen a few in the on here in the past but can't seem to find them no more had a go at it today but wasn't happy might have to be another course but cut down in height to make for a good size keystone another course of full brick would make for a small one can't win !Click image for larger version

I am still working on my first oven and nowhere near an expert, I will say that I have seen quite a few two piece keystones done on here and it seems to be ok. Probably not optimal, but it seems to do the job. I may do the same, if it works out that way. Good luck w/your build.

Got a couple mor hours on the oven after work and this thing is going up with no forms just a couple of bricks left on course 11 and them it's keystone time think it might have to be a 2 brick keystone though will this be ok ?Click image for larger version
