Im building a pizza oven and following the process that is spelled out on these forums - cinder block base, 3.5 inch of rebar supported concrete with 2" of FB insulation board, toped with fire brick. Unfortunately, I was only to find half bricks locally and wondering if they will carry enough thermal mass?

1.25" thick are know as splits, In order to have enough thermal mass in the floor you will need to do a double layer of splits.Russell
