    What would be a good flue opening size? I plan to use 6” stack but not sure how big opening should be on forward arch. If I use same philosophy we do for bbq smokers I would need match area. I can do prob 5x7 or 5x8 which is more than area of stack opening. Thoughts?

    also I am pretty much copying larry P low dome build. Here is where I am at

      Moved everything out back and got floor in along with walls and top row done. Mortared everything and wet curing it over few days. Hope to get
      metal bands installed Thurs and start dome Fri

        Been a while since last updated. Thanks to help from David S I switched up design a little. I did a mould for in er and outer arch in one piece and anchored the strap through slab to support side walls

        used sand as form and laid bricks over to create dome. Then covered top with refractory cement

        i am at point now on whether to use firebricks to create chimney path or used refractory cement and make a mould. In leaning towards cement as better option but havent decided. Thoughts?
