I build mine the same way everytime.
    2 logs on the bottom
2 in the middle set off 90deg
    2 on top.
Insert my fire stick and off it goes.
    No paper, never fails.

Those aren't cracks. Those are "Thermal Adjustment Expansion Joints".
Just like my wife doesn't have wrinkles, she has laugh lines.

Wear it like a badge of honour. The ovens without a fine crack somewhere are the exception to the rule. IMHO. It will settle to where it wants to be and physics say that it will not fall.

Bask in the joys of the oven.......... That is what the work was all about.

I would show you mine but I am a modest soul and try to refrain from exhibitionism!

Well everyone, the inevitable has happened. I have my first crack in my dome. Bottom left you can also see another very small one forming. Any thoughts on this. Do I just leave it be? It's pretty close to the top of my dome about 2/3 the way up.

Hi all just wondering about starting my fire in my oven. I've been starting my stack of wood three high about three or four pieces on each stack with newspaper on the bottom and it goes up completely from there and in about half an hour Im starting to get my dome clearing is that okay or is that too fast
